Running Time: 2 hours
Telemann was a brilliant and prolific writer, who published his own Magazine. And he really liked “avant-garde” poetry and did a lot to support young poets, especially during the last few decades of his long life.
Tempesta di Mare is partnering with the German Department at the University of Pennsylvania, the Creative Writing Department of the University of the Arts, and The German Society of Philadelphia for a special event around the language and poetry that Telemann favored (Brockes, Klopstock, and Ramler), translation hi-jinks and perhaps even a newly created poem or two.
First editions of 18th-century poetry books from the German Society’s Special Collection will be on display as well.
